M.C. LOGIC at A3C 2015

December 1st 2015

As a fan and artist of hip hop my recent trip to the A3C 2015 festival was a great experience, complete with celebrity sightings, networking, and amazing live performances. I flew down from the DMV to Atlanta to check out some new music, but what I didn’t expect was to meet cool artists and entrepreneurs from all over the U.S. in and out of the festival. I downloaded the A3C app from the hotel to keep up with all of the events, but also came across performances on Edgewood Avenue, like an emcee battle and a showcase by HipNott Records. DJ’s were spinning all day, keeping the people partying in the streets, followed by an evening performance headlined by Pete Rock, who jumped on the 1’s and 2’s. I’ve seen Pete Rock spin before, but the whole vibe of this event was unique. Hearing classic after classic with the whole crowd in unison gave me chills, and when he played “T.R.O.Y.” it brought me back to the first time I heard the song on Rap City. I ran in to and watched some dope artists such as Alchemist, Substantial, JSoul, Supastition, Ras Kass, J-Live, and many more. I got to meet Monie and let me tell you, she is 45 years old and still so beautiful! I got a chance to thank her for everything that she’s done for hip hop. I think the highlight was seeing Heresy, a group of 4 dope female emcees who absolutely rocked it! Shout out to the city of Atlanta! It had that “feels-like-home” vibe with a lot of really good folks. That was my first visit and I can’t wait to go back and check out the talent at A3C 2016.
